Cheryl Stevenson

Cheryl takes great pleasure from discovering artistic treasures in everyday items. Her work includes handmade-paper, mixed media, altered books, and watercolor paintings and emphasizes re-used and recycled materials.

A recent winner of Special Recognition Awards in the Light Space & Time Art Gallery’s Nature and  the All Women exhibitions, She is a past member of Creative Light Gallery, Ocean Shores, WA and Parklane Gallery, Kirkland, WA

She is the author of The Art of Handmade Paper & Collage, and her artwork is Leslie Riley’s upcoming book (release Dec. 2013). She appeared on The Carol Duvall show on the HGTV channel and was published in Somerset Studio Magazine, Daniel Smith’s Fine Art Materials Catalog. Past art shows include the West Coast Paper’s Annual Art of Paper Exhibition. She studied at the Art Institute of Seattle and worked as a graphic designer and art director for 12 years.

Cheryl’s teaching includes a five-day workshop for Carol Segal Fine Art Studio, in Montreal, Quebec, Friday Harbor Artist’s Coop, Friday Harbor, WA, Northwest Paper Arts Festival, Newport OR, and A Victorian Romance Trade Show, Galveston, TX. She currently lives in Ocean Shores, Washington and teaches at the Mermaid Cove Gallery & Gift Shop.
